Here’s a link to a nifty CERT FOG just released by California Volunteers:
It’s full of good an useful information for both Amateur Radio and CERT Volunteers.
Hot Dog! Drop off a CERT supply item or donation and get a fresh Hot Dog to go!
On Saturday, April 5th, from 10:00am -2:00pm the Rotary Club of
Ojai West together with Ojai Valley CERT will hold a much needed CERT
Supply Donation Drop-off at Rotary Park.
The emergency items listed below will go to equip CERT Responders and others to help our citizens during a disaster. The items range from a few dollars to whatever citizens would like to purchase or give in lightly used supplies listed. Participants will drive into the Rotary Park parking lot (at the Y) on West Ojai Avenue where Rotarians and CERT volunteers will collect the items in exchange for Hot Dogs and CERT information! Checks offered should be made out to RCOW Foundation/CERT. Each donation will help benefit our citizens.
For seven years, the members of Ojai Valley Community Emergency Response Team
(CERT) have steadily worked to increase awareness and expertise in disaster preparedness. They have encouraged over 500 CERT training attendees and extended that education by offering certification in Amateur Ham Radio operation, and in Red Cross First Aid training. They are visible at many functions including Ojai Day and organize and conduct the annual OK Drill held every third Wednesday in September.
The Rotary Club of Ojai West has over 20 members and families with disaster preparedness training and the Club has worked with CERT to fund the training DVD “People Like You” offered Sundays at 8am on Channel 10 access.
